I’m finally caught up to 2017 reviews… and it’s only July!

In 2016, I read 50 books.

2016books

Of those 50, I only rated two books 5 stars. Happily they were both Australian women writers! Kings Rising by C.S. Pacat and The Orchid Nursery by Louise Katz.

The rest of the break down went like this:

  • I rated 16 of the books 4/5.
  • 23 of them 3/5.
  • 7 books got 2/5 stars.
  • I rated one book 1/5.
  • I couldn’t finish one book.

How did you go in 2016? Are you trying to challenge yourself with a reading challenge this year?

Stay tuned for my 2017 reviews coming soon.

Review: Rebecca Royce Bundle

Rebecca Royce Bundle by Rebecca Royce

3 stars

Overall I rated this bundle as 3/5.

Bookish things: 43 pages, the cover is just a collage of the four short story covers. Apt, but a little boring.

Where to buy: This collection is no longer available to buy.

My overall review:

Overall this bundle consists of four short shifter/biker stories. The pace of the stories was fast, the characterisation minimal for the most part, and the backstory almost non-existent.

I liked some of the stories, but others I really disliked. The feel of the bundle was rushed and unfinished, unlike Rebecca’s other polished series, this one leaves a bit to be desired.

Things I noticed:

Unwanted Mate:
12% – …at the very top of least (left) breast…
16% – …are you going to put it (in) my…

Bar Mate:
42% – His (He) adored her with his eyes.

I also reviewed each of the stories within the bundle. Continue reading

A piece about pain, loss, and healing, Are Angels Allowed to Swear? is a complicated work of erotic fiction.
