Moving further up the list of my most read authors, here’s the icing on the cake.
#10:
A squishy spot for three authors, #10 is a place for lucky number seven. I’ve read seven of their books.
- Michael J. Sullivan
- The Riyria Revelations Series (original comprised of 6 books)
- Greener Grass – I simply adored Michael’s work. I’ve blogged about him a bit too, as some of you may know.
- Anne Rice
- The Vampire Chronicles 1-6 and #8 (not sure why I missed book 7 [very strange!])
- Diana Gabaldon
- The Outlander Series I’ve also blogged previously about her characters Jamie and Claire.
#9:
The first single author in a spot goes to an author that has blessed me with eight books.
- Paullina Simons
- Tatiana and Alexander Series: The Bronze Horseman, Tatiana and Alexander, The Summer Garden
- Song in the Daylight
- Road to Paradise
- Eleven Hours
- The Girl in Times Square
- Tully
#7:
Jostling for a spot in the top five are two authors, both of who I’ve read nine of their books.
- Keri Arthur
- Paul Jennings
- I read a lot of Paul Jennings’ books when I was in school. They’re a perfect addition to any early childhood/teenagers bookshelf!
#6:
Reserved for one. This spot is sporting a writing great, and a fellow Aussie to boot! I’ve read 10 of his books.
- John Marsden
- The Tomorrow Series #1-7 – They just made this into a movie and it was pretty good in terms of capturing the general feeling of the book. I will be going to see movie #2 when it comes out too.
- The Elle Chronicles #1-3 – While not as good as his original series, these held their own.
#4:
The fourth spot is reserved for two lovely and very talented ladies. I’ve read a whopping 11 of their works each.
- Lindsay Buroker
- The Emperor’s Edge Series (including novellas) – I needn’t tell you just how much I LOVE Lindsay’s work. The proof is in the
pudding, erm…blog posts (the rapidly growing number of them!) - Encrypted – Same world as The EE Series, but different characters.
- Enigma (An Encrypted Novella) – I also happened to blog about this one too.
- The Emperor’s Edge Series (including novellas) – I needn’t tell you just how much I LOVE Lindsay’s work. The proof is in the
- Laurell K. Hamilton
#2:
Oooh! We’re nearly at the top of the list. There are two talented writers here jostling for a position at the top of the totem pole. Some say that 13 is an unlucky number, but I don’t agree! I’ve read 13 books from each of these two!
- Charlaine Harris
- Sookie Stackhouse Series #1-11
- A touch of Dead (Sookie Stackhouse extras!)
- Night’s Edge (Sookie Stackhouse extras)
- James Patterson
- The Alex Cross Series #1, 3, 4, 9, 11 and 14 (yep that’s a bit strange!)
- The Women’s Murder Club Series
- Maximum Ride Series
- Hide and Seek
- Sail
Who will be in the top seat? Stay tuned to find out in the coming days…
Nice to see John Marsden at 6, one of my inspirations – incredibly hard to get hold of in the UK. The Ellie Chronicles were a series too far though. Read his LETTERS FROM THE INSIDE and SO MUCH TO TELL YOU for some cracking good books.
I will have to see if I can dig them up Tony. I agree though, while I still enjoyed the Ellie Chronicles, they were a touch too far.
James Patterson! I should have guessed – one of my all time favourites! 😀 But whose number 1??? Can’t wait to find out now…
I will be interested to see if many people know #1. You will have to keep an eye out for the post over the next week. 🙂
My guess is Stephen King – but I may be wrong….;)
You would be wrong with that guess Dianne. He is too well known. My #1 author is not big 6 published 🙂
Do’h! Okay – I’ll keep thinking 😉
I would be surprised if more than 1 or 2 of my blog readers know who they are, let alone read any of the books, but I could be surprised. 😝
